The start of Summer.....

The start of Summer got off to a bang!
The sun was out and the snow was melting fast and feeding the rivers .

The Loisach is such a great little paddle and with optimum water levels it is a dream!

Andrea took her first strokes in a kayak up on the mountain lake and it was the final part of the festival season with torches or lanterns getting lit in the mountains.

The Rosanna was also bringing a lot of snow melt down and we were really making the most of the steep technical drops.  It is difficult to head to another river when you have this on your doorstep!

It is also great to show our guests our home run and just how good it keeps you on your toes!!!

We have been working hard trying to get the Rosanna popular and though it is a slow and sometimes painstaking process there is light at the end of the tunnel and we hope to have more kayakers appreciating it too!

Once the steepness calms down the views of the area are stunning.

The Lech River just a couple of valleys over from us or a drive over some amazing mountain passes and of course past the famous Lech Gorges.

The Lech is a favourite of ours and it is hard not to understand why.
Set in a nature and conservation area the Lech flows freely along its entire path!

The views are outstanding with snowcapped mountains and alpine meadows waiting for their first cut of the season!

We also managed to do a mini road trip to Bavaria and caught up with John Blake.
He took us down one of his local rivers.  The Upper Breitach in the Austrian enclave of Kleinwalsertal!!

I last kayaked the Upper Breitach with Skinny Jones when we were both raft guiding down in Landeck, Austria.
It has changed a lot since then due to a devastating flood a few years ago but the municipality and authorities have worked extremely hard and brought the river back to life!!!

Well Summer is pretty much here and the rivers are getting BIG.
It is time to make the most of the Rivers Inn and Sanna.
