India 2010

Just a quick show of our 2 months in the Indian Himalayas.  With the heaviest monsoon since 1929 our plans were constantly changing.
Enjoy....

Manali a laid back town and the gateway to the Northern Indian Himalayas.

The put-in for the Tsarap Chu River.  This shot was taken near the end of September.  When I ran this 2 years ago solo the river was brown and pumping from the snow melt of the glaciers all around!  What a difference 6 weeks makes!!

Is it not unbelievable?

Just another accident, one of many!

The carnage in Ladakh caused by unusual rains!

Leh some 3524 metres above sea level

On our way up the Indus Valley

Yet another vehicle that had been taken out by landslides

Goats to add to the carnage

Our sanctuary by the river.  Peace and tranquility in a country of madness, hustle and bustle

A local lady working in the paddy fields

Shalabh surfing on his home wave, just outside his door!

A window of opportunity....Pawan a village local trying to get the eskimo roll!

Night time at the camp

The Alaknanda river, one of the major tributaries of the mighty Ganges!

The drive to one of the many sections of the Alaknanda

Ute at the put-in

Shalabh on the Alaknanda

With the line worked out, Ute enters the next rapid

A little piece of calm water, time to enjoy the tranquility
