A European Spring

After an amazing Winter of skiing some deep powder, riding the big mountains of the Austrian Arlberg and hiking into secret spots to catch the last bits of powder, the Spring finally arrived.

In April we headed over to the turquoise river Soca in Slovenia to warm up and thaw out.
During which time Ute completed her Advanced Whitewater Safety and Rescue course with Adam and Simon at Gene17.

Swimming and spending so much time in the river can get pretty chilly even in the Spring but her Peak UK suit kept her dry and toasty!

Ute also managed to put the new Bull Bag into action and she was pretty impressed at just how well it threw and how easy it was to pack!

As the weather was not getting any warmer in Austria and Ute had her brand new Wave Sport Recon 70 sitting there, we decided to head to Corsica.

Unfortunately the weather again was not on our side.  We arrived for the temperature to plummet and the campsite never really got above 4 degrees!
The mountains were getting snowed upon and the water started to really dry up!

So it was back to Austria and yes, the sun was shinning on Steve's new Wave Sport Recon!!

An Alpine River Running Class IV course out of our base in the Arlberg - the West of Austria

Harry working on his big water technique

Steve and Harry enjoying the calm before the storm on the Landeck Gorge section of the River Inn.

Ute coaching on our Fundamental Skills Class II kayaking course on our home river of the Rosanna

Roman was certainly enjoying the technical whitewater of the Rosanna

The temperature was dropping again, but this did not dampen the Swiss who came for a 4 day Beginners Course.

The mountain lake had stunning scenery after the previous nights snowfall!!

The Lech is a great place to acquire new skills and kayak a sweet Alpine River.

It may not have been the warmest course but with smiles all around it was certainly a blast!!

Steve met up with Nathan and showed him just what the local rivers are all about.
With some refined coaching along the way Nathan was having a blast and just stylin' drops, boofs and some of the biggest waves the Alps has to offer!

It may have not been the warmest Spring to date but Ute and Steve have certainly been making the most of the conditions.  Here is to a warmer June and some sweet Alpine whitewater with those classic snowcapped mountain backdrops and meadows in full bloom!!
